Oh no, that's not supposed to happen

So with the challenge also came a promise to eat healthily more frequently - and today I began with strawberries, an apple, chewing gum (to curb a chocolate craving), a Ryvita, then another, then a pastrami and cheese bagel (that's gone and done it), then a petit filous, then a turkish delight, a chocolate biscuit.... you understand.

Salad for dinner then.

Why I did what I did

It's January. The mornings and evenings are so very black. As Feb looms I began to feel more and more like an amalgamation of Rosanne, Slimer and some sort of drooling wild beasty. I don't want to spend my precious pennies on boozing and the stark white of my sunshine starved skin puts me off H&M mirrors which offer an all round view including my pastey derriere. So I did it - I signed up to the Macmillan Cancer Support Etape Caledonia, a big old bicycle ride in the Scottish highlands.

It took 3 weeks of talking about it, and then last thursday I actually paid my £54 entrance fee -a shot of adrenaline and an unexpected excitable sort of crazed panic set in.

And that's it.

Wonder if I'll feel like She-Ra, Princess of Power by May?
